The World is a Mosaic, Not a Monochrome: Defying Labels

People and entities are defined by labels, one small incident can highlight a label about them, which could be permanently tatued on the forehead of that person or any entity. There are 1000s of instances where people and places are underestimated or misestimated, and they carry the weight over the shoulder and accept the incorrect things about them. In this article, we will learn about the Label Trap

Geographical stereotypes

Many places around the world are being labeled as bad, poor, or dangerous and this label has been haunting many from visiting that country. People go by these labels are abide by them, missing the beauty of that place.

the perception of Africa of being as a dangerous country to visit, being labeled as a place where water is a luxury scares the tourists away and they might not visit Africa, the reality is however completely different, Today's Africa is not just a grassland but a continent actively taking part in the world's affair. Although Africa is portrayed as poor, they have the most loving people out there, and the opportunities in that country are astronomical. Africa is an untapped market waiting to be tapped by technological giants. Africa is full of greenery, and animals which cannot be seen in the rest of the world

Another example is the labeling of cultures. Many countries are labeled unsafe or climinal by their past events. There must be a past traumatic event in that country which must have bookmarked a label on it. This happened historically with the persecution of Muslims after the 9/11 attacks, despite the religion promoting peace and tolerance some orthodox people from that religion choose violence there way of propagating their opinion.  This made that country look dangerous and that word was labelled to it.

The Label Trap on Individuals

We individuals also suffer from the label trap. We might be portrayed something in school or by the community and that becomes our label and sticks with us the whole time. The problem with labels is when they stay long enough we start to accept them and that's where the problem is, We should rather fight it and try to change it.

A small mistake made by a person can also issue a label on that person and can give him prejudice, acceptance from society, and other problems, he will not be able to find good opportunities due to that mistake.
