4 Steps to get work done


we often start to do a particular set of tasks or work but often procrastinate and get distracted. Our brain is not rational it tends to get diverted often. Our brain has an emergency response system whenever it finds that someone is doing something that he does not like but is forced to do it will activate that system and look for other interesting things for that person to do which can scrolling social media, fidgeting about things or just giving up on it, the only way to stop procrastination is removing the destructive elements around the desk and following certain method to fuel in your productivity. Here are some methods which can be used to get work done -

Make a plan

making a plan at the start of the day is the first step to stopping procrastination. Whenever someone wakes up and gets ready to work the first thing he should do is on a book or whiteboard write a set of the task he has to do and write the individual duration for each task for example( cycling for 2 hours) writing the timing for each task is not recommended because 90% of the people tend not to abide by that so only if you are in a very advanced stage of productivity you can abide by the timing(eg cycling from 2 pm till 4 pm). One can use different color ink to highlight the important and nonimportant tasks to analyze how much to distribute effort and time in


Use a timer

so now you have made a plan and settled for work, the next step you have to do is to set a timer, if you don’t have a timer go on Amazon (not sponsored) and buy the simplest timer clock possible. Set a timer and don’t set it on your desk but set it away from you because one tends to fidget with the clock if kept near to it. set a timer. If you really want to boost your productivity I prefer you to put in a Pomodoro timer, pomodoro timer is highly effective and can ensure that your brain is getting enough rest while being productive. According to the business concept of Parkinson’s Law, “Work expands to fill the time allotted for it.” If you don’t set a definite time to complete a task, you might take longer to complete it. So, try setting specific timed goals for each assignment to speed up your work throughout the day.

Organize your workspace

Survey Finds 54 Percent of Americans are Overwhelmed with Clutter, the best way to make yourself productive is getting organized. If you are in the 46% super organized people you can skip this part. As i told you earlier our brain has an emergency mechanism and tries to find ways to escape a situation, if you are doing a very boring task the brain gets easily distracted and tries to find ways to entertain yourself, the best way to ensure that you are productive is by decluttering your workspace. Your workspace should have your laptop, clock, lamp notebook, and pen. the more minimalistic is your desk the less you get distracted. One way to improve productivity and minimize distractions is to arrange study or work materials on your desk in an easily accessible way. Avoid piles and organize your documents so that you know where everything is at all times. This will help you save time and avoid getting distracted by searching for files or items on your desk.

you should not be the person who keeps on doing work but does not take a single brake, taking breaks is extremely important. Research has proved that the people who take breaks in between work hours happen to do work faster and better than those who exhaust themselves, breaks make your brain recharge itself rejuvenate and restart the mental system, and make it process more and with a higher consistency.
